DNREC Division of Watershed Stewardship accepting applications for youth artist rain barrel-painting contest through March 18

DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship is now accepting applications from children and student groups in grades K-12 to participate in a rain barrel painting contest aimed at educating young Delawareans on the benefits of using rain barrels to reduce rainwater runoff and improve water quality.




Governor Markell Appoints 17th Poets Laureate for the State of Delaware

Following the recent retirement of JoAnn Balingit as Delaware’s Poet Laureate, Governor Jack Markell announced the Twin Poets, Nnamdi Chukwuocha and Albert Mills, will share the title of 17th Poets Laureate of the State of Delaware.




2016/17 Delaware Waterfowl, 2016 Trout Stamp art contest winners are announced

Two artists have won top honors in the state’s sporting stamp art contests. A painting of green-winged teal with a yellow Labrador retriever by Deanne “Dee Dee” Murry of Centralia, Wash., will grace the 2016/17 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp, and a painting of a brown trout by Nicholas Markell of Hugo, Minn., will become the face of the 2016 Delaware Trout Stamp.




Twenty-one State Employees and their Family Members Awarded Art Honors

The Awards Show and Closing Reception will be held at Delaware State University’s Arts Center/Gallery on March 14, 2015, 1-3 p.m. Secretary of State Jeffrey W. Bullock and Division of the Arts Deputy Director Kristin Pleasanton will preside at the Awards Ceremony.

The National Arts Program®: Delaware State Employee Exhibition and Contest IV will be held from February 23 – March 14, 2015 at the Art Center/Gallery at Delaware State University in Dover.
