Day-long series of activities commemorating the 332nd anniversary of Penn’s Oct. 27, 1682 disembarkment at New Castle, his first landing in the New World.
The series consists of male and female portraits representing each of the eight life stages presented in Erik Erikson’s theory of human psychological development. The process for the production of the work is an in-depth combination of contemporary digital tools and traditional photographic processes and techniques.
Del Porte presents eleven new works depicting local scenes in canvases of vibrant and jewel-like color. The works on view feature street scenes from Wilmington area neighborhoods. Markell will honor the eight recipients of the 2014 Governor’s Awards for the Arts at a presentation starting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware.
