DUI Checkpoints Set for NASCAR Weekend

Nineteen (19) people were arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs Friday night (Sept. 21st) during the 13th week of the 2012 Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI prevention campaign.




Delaware Office of Highway Safety & NASCAR Driver J.J. Yeley Team Up To Drive Sober & Arrive Alive DE

The Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) will again team up with NASCAR driver J.J. Yeley at the Monster Mile next weekend (September 28-30) to remind fans to Drive Sober and Arrive Alive. This time Yeley will pull a double duty and drive the #27 Nationwide car with Go Canada Motorsports (GCMI) on Saturday and then on Sunday drive the #36 Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) car for the Sprint Cup race.




Another 10 DUI Arrests Made In September

The Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign netted another 10 DUI arrests last weekend (Sept 14). This brings the total DUI arrests made as part of the campaign to 154. Statewide, there have been over 3,500 DUI arrests made in Delaware this year.




10 DUI Arrests During 2nd weekend in September

Summer might have officially ended but the Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign enforcement continues on and proves that driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs will get you arrested. On September 7th a total of 10 individuals were arrested for DUI. This brings the total DUI arrests made as part of the campaign to 144. Statewide, there have been over 3,400 DUI arrests made in Delaware this year.




OHS Motorcycle Safety Awareness Event This Saturday Sept. 15th

Delmarva Bike Week is being held September 13th to 16th with lots of activities from Seaford, DE to Ocean City, MD for riders of all kinds. During this time motorist can expect to see more motorcyclists on the roads and the Delaware Office of Highway (OHS) wants to remind all how to share the road safely by hosting a Motorcycle Awareness event at Grotto Pizza in Milford on Route 1 on Saturday September 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
