Delaware’s State Museum System Awarded National Accreditation

Delaware’s state museum system has been accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the highest recognition afforded to museums in the United States. Administered by the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, the system includes five museums as well as the archaeological and historic objects collections curated by the state.



DNREC’S Division of Parks & Recreation to host open house on Fort Miles Master Plan

DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation, in partnership with the Fort Miles Historical Association, will host an open house on October 16 for public review and comment on proposed capital improvements to the Fort Miles Museum and Historic Area in Cape Henlopen State Park.



Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs to sponsor 16 special events during October 2017

Halloween programs, 18th century trades and William Penn Day among the events to be presented.



EVENT CHANGE OF VENUE: “First People of the First State: 12,000 Years, 300 Years and One Year” program in Dover, Del. on Sept. 2, 2017 moved indoors due to inclement weather

Sept. 2, 2017 event moved from outdoors on the Dover Green to indoors at The Old State House.



Native-American heritage to be spotlighted at the museums of the State of Delaware during September 2017

Programs on Delaware’s Lenape and Nanticoke Indian tribes to be featured.
