DNREC Set to Begin White Creek Dredging Project

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today that dredging is expected to begin just after the New Year on the main channel of White Creek and a short stretch of Asswoman Canal to improve navigability on the two waterways northwest of Bethany Beach in Sussex County.

DNREC Division of Parks & Recreation highlights installation of solar panels that now power Fort Delaware State Park

The Division of Parks & Recreation today marked the installation of 540 solar panels to power Fort Delaware State Park. U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, PSEG representatives, Delaware City Mayor Stanley Green, other state officials, and schoolchildren joined DNREC Secretary Shawn M. Garvin for the dedication.




DNREC, DTI electronics recycling partnership saved Delaware more than $110,000 in 2017 energy costs

A partnership between the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and Delaware’s Department of Technology and Information (DTI) with the Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) in the national State Electronics Challenge has saved the state more than $110,000 in energy costs for 2017.
