Lt. Governor Denn Visits Delaware Military Academy on Friday, April 20th

Wilmington, DE (Thursday, April 19, 2012) – On Friday, April 20th, Lt. Governor Matt Denn will be in New Castle County.

His first visit will be a visit to Delaware Military Academy (DMA) in Wilmington. Delaware Military Academy (DMA) was founded in 2003 by Colonel John Wintermantel and is the only charter high school in the United States based on the traditions, values and ideals of the U.S. Navy.  The Academy is open to all students and seeks to prepare students for their future by providing a solid academic curriculum, enhanced with a military training program.  DMA was ranked a superior school by the Delaware Department of Education in 2011 and currently enrolls 554 cadets.

Lieutenant Governor Denn will visit on Friday, where he will be met by Colonel Wintermantel and the Corps of Cadets leadership.  He will tour the building with Colonel Wintermantel and have a chance to visit multiple classrooms to see cadets in action.

Lt. Governor Denn usually visits one school a week where he enjoys meeting students, school leadership, and teachers as he focuses on education in the state of Delaware.

Lt. Governor Denn will then recognize and thank those who have given at least 10 years of their time to volunteer at Christiana Care to end their “Week of Volunteerism.”
