Biden to Address National Student Consumer Competition Tuesday in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 24) in Philadelphia Attorney General Beau Biden will address hundreds of students gathered from across the country who are competing in the 2012 National LifeSmarts consumer competition.  LifeSmarts is a competitive educational program sponsored by the National Consumers League that educates students on real-world financial and consumer literacy issues. This past year 15,000 teens competed online answering more than 3 million questions for a chance to represent their states at the National Championship competition. 

32 state champion teams, including Salesianum High School, winners of the Delaware LifeSmarts competition, are competing in the 2012 National LifeSmarts Championship, taking place at the Downtown (Philadelphia) Sheraton Hotel, located at 201 North 17th Street.  The competition began this past Saturday.  The Semi-final matches begin Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and the Finals follow at 10:45 a.m.  Finalists competing tomorrow are: Dallas High School, Dallas, PA, Barrington High School, Barrington, RI, Paxon School for Advanced Studies, Jacksonville, FL, and Maryland Home Schoolers, Frederick, MD.
