Nuclear generating stations warning sirens to be tested July 10

A test of the Salem-Hope Creek Generating Stations Alert and Notification System will be conducted by the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) and the Delaware State Police on Tuesday, July 10, between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The Quarterly Siren Test involves a three-to-five-minute sounding of the 37 notification sirens in Delaware, followed by a test message of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).  The sirens are located within a 10-mile radius of the power plant, located in New Jersey.

Should an actual emergency occur at Salem or Hope Creek Generating Stations, sirens would alert the public to tune to one of the EAS stations for important emergency instructions.
