Governor to Sign Stronger Protections for Abused Children Into Law

What:             Attorney General Beau Biden and legislative leaders will join Governor Markell tomorrow as he signs stronger protections for abused children into law.  Senate Bill 234, introduced by Senate Majority Leader Patricia Blevins and Representative Rebecca Walker and passed overwhelmingly by the General Assembly earlier year, recognizes the critical need to protect children from abuse and neglect.  The legislation codifies tougher penalties against child abusers and creates the crime of “Child Abuse”.
