Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that he has named Matthew Lintner to be Director of the Delaware Department of Justice Fraud and Consumer Protection Division.   As Director, Lintner oversees the Attorney General’s Securities, Medicaid Fraud, and Consumer Protection Units.

“I am pleased that Matt has agreed to join my leadership team,” Biden said Monday.  “He brings a wealth of knowledge from private legal practice to this position.  I’ll rely on his experience and judgment in crafting our efforts to aggressively safeguard Delaware’s consumers as head of our Fraud and Consumer Protection Division.”

Over 20 years as a corporate litigator, Lintner, of Wilmington, has handled complex financial cases relating to corporate finance, asset valuation, complex accounting and fraud claims.  In addition, he spent several years as a Deputy Attorney General in the civil enforcement division of the California Attorney General’s office.  He currently practices at the Wilmington law firm of Potter Anderson & Corroon, and is a former partner of the law firms of Morris James in Wilmington and Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (SNR Denton) in San Francisco.

Lintner received his law degree from Stanford Law School and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.  He will join Biden’s office on April 2nd.
