Lt. Governor Denn Will Release Report & Recommendations on Monday, May 13th
WILMINGTON – On Monday, May 13th, Lt. Governor Denn, Chair of Delaware’s Workers’ Compensation Task Force, and business and legislative leaders will discuss the recommendations and the report that will be presented to Governor Markell and the General Assembly.
Created by HJR3, the task force was established by the General Assembly and Governor to address the 34% increase in average workers compensation rates over the last two years. These rate increases have been a burden on Delaware businesses.
Lieutenant Governor Denn, who worked with the General Assembly in 2006 and 2007 to enact workers compensation reforms that cut rates by over 40%, has chaired weekly meetings since February to address the issue and come up with common-sense solutions.
All meetings were open to the public, provided an opportunity for public comment, audio-recorded and posted on the Lieutenant Governor’s website, along with all documents presented at meetings.
Members of the task force, members of the Delaware State Chamber’s Board of Directors and others will be present at the press conference.
