Governor’s Weekly Message: Preparing Our Workforce for Jobs of the Future


In his weekly message, Governor Markell highlights statewide efforts to ensure Delaware’s workforce is trained and qualified for the ever-changing job market.

“The skill demands of today’s jobs are rapidly evolving and the days of one employer, one career are over for most workers, ” said Governor Markell. “Lifetime learning is no longer an aspiration – it’s a necessity, because workers throughout their careers need to upgrade their skills to remain competitive. That also means we need a workforce system that delivers the training workers need to qualify for the jobs employers are seeking to fill.”
