Dover – Alberto Miranda, age 56, an inmate at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, died in the prison infirmary yesterday morning, March 10, 2015, of natural causes following a lengthy illness. Miranda, of Newark, DE, was serving a 31-year sentence for multiple counts of unlawful sexual intercourse, attempted unlawful sexual intercourse, and unlawful sexual contact. His sentence effective date was June 26, 1993.
Mirdanda’s body has been turned over to the State Division of Forensic Science, as is standard procedure.
Foul play is not suspected.
