Governor’s Weekly Message: Ensuring the Rights and Safety of All Delawareans and Americans

Wilmington, DE – In his weekly message, Governor Markell remembers the victims of the shooting in Orlando and recognizes we have more work to do to ensure the freedom, dignity and safety of all people.

“Last Sunday, Delawareans and Americans across the country awoke to the horrifying and tragic news of the worst mass shooting in the nation’s history – a crime that the President appropriately called ‘an act of terror and an act of hate,’” Governor Markell said. “By recognizing that we are stronger together, when we present a united front and take responsible steps to keep people safe while protecting everyone’s natural rights, we keep Delaware moving forward.”
