‘Small Fry Adventures’ family outing dates announced by DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife

Outdoors programs upcoming at Aquatic Resources Education Center

SMYRNA – DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife invites families with young children to come out to the Aquatic Resources Education Center and enjoy an exciting lineup of “Small Fry Adventures” this summer. These events are geared towards youngsters ages 4 to 9 who might want to find out about fish and other critters that live in the tidal salt marsh. Kids also will have a chance to view marine life in the center’s aquariums and make a simple craft with an aquatic theme, such as a three-dimensional fish that can catch “bait,” and art involving crabs and marsh animals.

“Small Fry Adventures” programs are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 24, “Make Friends With a Fish”
  • Tuesday, Aug. 7, “Crabby Adventures”
  • Tuesday, Aug. 14, “Marsh Explorers”

All three programs are scheduled to run from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Aquatic Resources Education Center, 2520 Lighthouse Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.

To ensure enough supplies are on hand for these free programs, pre-registration is recommended. To pre-register for “Small Fry Adventures,” or for more information about the program, please email Mary Rivera or call 302-735-8689. Walk-ins also will be allowed into the event as space permits.
