Wilmington Man Pleads to Killing Teenage Girl

A Wilmington man charged with killing a 16-year-old girl has pleaded guilty. Deputy Attorneys General John Downs and Timothy Maguire secured the plea from Shyheim Warren, 25. In April 2017, Warren fatally shot Tynesia Cephas as she tried to break up a large fight in front of a home on the 900 block of North Kirkwood Street in Wilmington where she lived with her boyfriend. Warren pleaded guilty to Manslaughter and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony. A Superior Court judge will sentence Warren later this year.
