Flag lowering for former Public Defender Larry Sullivan

Governor Carney has ordered the U.S. and Delaware flags lowered to half-staff beginning the morning of Friday, September 20, in remembrance of former Chief Public Defender Larry Sullivan.

Mr. Sullivan was appointed as the Chief Public Defender in 1970, serving 39 years when he retired in 2009. Under his direction, the Office of the Public Defender grew from 10 employees to a full-service law firm employing nearly 150 people and 70 attorneys.

Flags should be returned to full-staff at the close of business on Friday, September 20.
