State Employees’ Charitable Campaign Now Accepting Applications for 2022

Delaware nonprofits are encouraged to apply for this year’s campaign through March 31.

DOVER, Del.— The State of Delaware and the State Employee Charitable Campaign Steering Committee invite local nonprofit organizations to apply to participate in the 2022 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2022.

The SECC provides state employees and retirees the opportunity to support organizations whose programs and services benefit the health and welfare of all Delawareans. The campaign runs September 1 through October 31, 2022.

“Delaware nonprofits play a critical role in providing essential programs and services to Delawareans across our state,” said Governor Carney. “When faced with the challenges of the pandemic and an increased demand for services, these organizations continued to provide food, shelter, clothing, and health and social services where needed. The SECC provides state employees the opportunity to show their appreciation to charities participating in the campaign.”

Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the state’s annual giving campaign. Since its beginning, funds raised through the generosity of state employees and retirees have supported the work of hundreds of Delaware charities.

“Our state employees are committed to making Delaware a better place to live and work,” said Claire DeMatteis, Secretary of the Delaware Department of Human Resources and SECC Chairperson. “The SECC provides employees and retirees with a convenient and efficient way to make voluntary, tax-deductible contributions to charities that support our communities.”

Interested charities must submit their application by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022. To learn if your organization is eligible to participate, please review the information on the Resources for Charities page of the SECC website.
