Morning House Fire In Newark, De. Accidental.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that this morning’s fire in Newark, Delaware that damaged a house was accidental.

The blaze, reported shortly after 7:30 am, occurred in the 200 block of Cheltenham Road in the Oaklands development. The Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company arrived on the scene with smoke coming from the roof. There were no reported injuries.

State fire investigators were called to the scene. The fire was caused by a faulty exhaust fan inside a bathroom. Smoke alarms activated inside the home. Heavy fire damage was estimated at $50,000.
