Increasing Energy Efficiency Reduces Costs to Homeowners

Oct. 30 is National Weatherization Day, with Gov. John Carney also proclaiming the date as Weatherization Day in Delaware. While all homeowners can benefit from a more energy-efficient home, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s (DNREC) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) helps lower income families who might not otherwise be able to afford needed improvements.




Scotton Landing Boat Ramp to Close for Reconstruction

The Scotton Landing boat ramp and fishing pier on the St. Jones River will be closed starting Nov. 7 while DNREC reconstructs the facility with a new ramp and courtesy expected to be in use spring 2024.

Impoundment Dike Repairs Likely to Mean Partial Closures of Little Creek Wildlife Area During Early Waterfowl Season

DNREC announced that partial closures of the Little Creek Wildlife Area east of Dover are a likely occurrence as emergency repairs are made to the breached exterior dike at the area’s West Impoundment.
