Dover, Del. October X, 2024 –Delaware’s five public housing authorities (PHA) and AffordableHousing.com have partnered to simplify the housing assistance application process. Applicants will soon be able to submit and manage waiting list applications for all participating PHAs through a single, centralized platform.

As part of the transition to the centralized system, all applicants on participating PHA waitlist must update their applications by November 22, 2024, to remain on the waiting list for public housing or voucher assistance. Failure to update an application by November 22, 2024, will result in the removal of one’s application from the waiting list. The participating PHAs include:

All active applicants will receive an application update form by mail and email from the Delaware Housing Access Association (DHAA). This communication is legitimate; applicants can verify the validity of the correspondence by visiting the website of the housing authority where they applied. It’s important to emphasize that this is not a scam and that applicants should be cautious of unsolicited communications that do not originate from the official housing authorities.

The application update form can be returned physically to an applicant’s local participating PHA, via fax, U.S. mail, or via https://Delaware.AffordableHousing.com. It is important to note that this communication is not an offer of housing assistance. Additionally, please note that the waiting list is not reopening at this time, and PHA’s are not accepting new applications.

For further information on updating your application while on a PHA waiting list, please visit https://Delaware.AffordableHousing.com or contact a participating PHA, as listed above.
