DOJ Recognizes National Consumer Protection Week

In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, March 2 – 8, the Delaware Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Unit (CPU) is holding in-person events and sharing digital content geared toward education and prevention in the realm of consumer protection. The DOJ has released the list of Delaware’s top 10 scams for 2024 and will be sharing additional digital content on social media throughout the week.
 
In addition, representatives from the CPU will run a table at the Trabant University Center at the University of Delaware on March 4 from 9 am to 5 pm. Members of the CPU will also meet with constituents across the state in partnership with state legislators including Representative Yearick on March 5 and Representative Hilovsky on March 7.
 
The 2024 list of Delaware’s top 10 scams along with a full library of National Consumer Protection Week educational videos with partners from the Federal Trade Commission, National Consumer Protection Bureau, AARP of Delaware, Better Business Bureau and many more can be found at de.gov/ncpw.
 
Delawareans who suspect they may have fallen victim to fraud are encouraged to make a report at de.gov/consumercomplaint.
