Governor Meyer Orders The Lowering of Flags to Honor The Passing Of Vice President Cheney

WILMINGTON – Today, Delaware Governor Matt Meyer ordered all flags at state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff due to the passing of former United States Vice President Dick Cheney. According to the U.S. Flag Code, flags should be lowered to half-staff following the death of a former vice president, from the day of death until interment.  
 
In light of the former vice president’s passing, Governor Meyer issued the following statement: 
“Vice President Cheney believed in the promise of America as a shining beacon on the hill. Lauren and I are thinking of his wife, daughters, and entire family tonight as they process this immense loss.”
