WILMINGTON, Del. — Governor Matt Meyer today announced the latest projects accepted into the JobsFirst Permitting Accelerator, advancing the administration’s efforts to deliver critical infrastructure, expand broadband access, strengthen health care and support economic growth across Delaware.
“JobsFirst is about tackling Delaware’s biggest challenges with urgency, not bureaucracy,” said Governor Matt Meyer. “Whether it’s expanding access to health care, closing the digital divide or building the infrastructure our communities need, Delawareans shouldn’t have to wait years for projects that people need now.”
Established through Executive Order 18, the JobsFirst Permitting Accelerator coordinates permitting across state agencies by assigning each accepted project a single point of contact, streamlining interagency reviews and providing real-time accountability throughout the permitting process. The program is designed to complete complex permitting reviews within 120 business days while maintaining Delaware’s environmental, public safety and regulatory standards.
The newly accepted projects include:
Talkie Communications – Delaware RDOF High-Speed Broadband Deployment – Talkie Communications will expand gigabit-speed broadband service to 1,448 currently unserved homes and businesses in Kent and Sussex counties using buried fiber infrastructure installed within existing roadway rights-of-way. The project utilizes the Federal Communications Commission’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund to improve digital access and connectivity throughout rural Delaware.
ChristianaCare – Georgetown Campus – ChristianaCare will develop a comprehensive health campus in Georgetown featuring a Health Center and Neighborhood Hospital in a single integrated facility. The campus will provide primary care, specialty care, behavioral health services and other outpatient services, supported by an emergency department with eight beds and eight inpatient beds for short-stay and community-based hospitalization.
ChristianaCare – Camden Campus – ChristianaCare will develop a second integrated health campus in Camden featuring a Health Center and Neighborhood Hospital. The project will expand access to primary care, specialty care, behavioral health services and other outpatient care for Kent County residents while increasing community-based hospital capacity.
Additional projects will be added to the JobsFirst Permitting Accelerator and the public dashboard as they are accepted into the program.
