DOVER, Del. — The Delaware Department of Labor (DOL) will host Building Delaware Together: Statewide Construction Workforce Expo on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at POLYTECH High School in Woodside, bringing together students, job seekers, employers, apprenticeship programs, trade associations, training providers, and workforce partners to highlight career opportunities throughout Delaware’s construction industry.
The Expo is part of National Construction Appreciation Week and builds on the success of last year’s statewide construction workforce efforts. The event will provide attendees with direct connections to employers and career pathways, as well as information on apprenticeships, training opportunities, workplace safety, and construction compliance.
“Building Delaware Together is about more than construction. It is about building careers, strengthening communities, and creating opportunity,” said Delaware Department of Labor Secretary LaKresha Moultrie. “By bringing students, job seekers, employers, and industry partners together, we are creating connections that can lead to lifelong careers and ensuring Delaware has the skilled workforce needed to continue moving our state forward.”
The Expo will feature interactive exhibits and opportunities for attendees to connect directly with participating employers, apprenticeship and training programs, industry organizations, and Department of Labor resources.
The event will include two sessions:
• 1–3 p.m. – High School Student Session
• 4–6 p.m. – Public & Job Seeker Session
“Building Delaware Together” supports the goals of Governor Matt Meyer’s Executive Order #1 by connecting education, workforce development, and employment opportunities and strengthening pathways into high-demand careers.
The Delaware Department of Labor’s second annual National Construction Appreciation Week event builds on the success of last year’s inaugural event in New Castle County, which brought together more than 300 students, job seekers, employers, workforce partners, and industry representatives at the Route 9 Library. This year, the initiative moves to Kent County, bringing these partners together at POLYTECH High School for the Building Delaware Together: Statewide Construction Workforce Expo.
The Delaware Department of Labor encourages students, job seekers, employers, and community members interested in construction careers and resources to attend.
