DSBF: Cruising Mist, Salty Beaches, Unberdnbywhathsben win at Harrington

Salty Beaches, driven by Allan Davis, won her third straight start on Tuesday

HARRINGTON – The second leg of Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) 2-year-old filly pacing action headlined the Tuesday, Oct. 6 program at Harrington Raceway as three $20,000 divisions were contested.

Burke Racing, Knox Services, and Weaver Bruscemi’s Unberdnbywhathsben ($2.40, Jason Thompson) was victorious in the first division in 1:58.2 over Wonderful Tonight and Miss Mam.

The He’s Watching filly notched her first career win for trainer Ron Burke. Thompson put the filly on the front end in the five-horse field early and she pulled away effortlessly in the stretch for an open length victory.

Legacy Racing of Delaware’s Cruising Mist ($4.40, Allan Davis) won the second division in 1:58.2 for trainer Wayne Givens. The Powerful Mist filly won her second straight race, completing a sweep of her eliminations, over pacesetter Rynesha and Jobs Not Finished.

The final division saw heavily favored Tyler Davis’ Salty Beaches ($2.60, Allan Davis) prevail for a third straight start in 1:57.2 for her owner/trainer over Land Of The Free and Aunt Agnes. The Badlands Hanover filly improved to 3-for-4 lifetime as driver Davis snagged two wins in DSBF action and four on the card.

The top eight point earners (Cruising Mist, Salty Beaches, Land Of The Free, Unberdnbywhathsben, Rynesha, Wonderful Tonight, Miss Mam, Moms Watchin) from the two elimination legs will return to compete in the $110,000 Final on Tuesday, Oct. 13. There will also be a $20,000 consolation for the next top eight point earners.

Oct. 12-14 will feature all of the DSBF finals and consolation events for 2-year-olds.

DSBF trotters will be featured on the Wednesday, Oct. 7 program with five divisions. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
