DNREC continues the revision process of updating the Delaware Wildlife Action Plan (DEWAP), a 10-year conservation strategy that will guide conservation efforts for the state’s wildlife and their habitats through 2035. DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife now seeks public comment on a draft list of threats and conservation actions for the state’s Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) – with the draft document IDing factors that could support restoration and long-term SGCN management.




Code Red Air Quality Alert Issued for Northern Delaware Due to Wildfire Smoke

Delawareans can sign up for Delaware alerts and check local forecasts at de.gov/aqi. They can check AirNow.gov for real-time conditions. Smyrna Angler, Age 9, Wins 39th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament

DNREC announced winners and the overall state champion after more than 150 young anglers cast their lines Saturday, June 7 in the 39th Annual Delaware Youth Fishing Tournament, hosted and sponsored by the Delaware Natural Resources Police. Kohen Marvel of Smyrna, age 9, was the tournament’s repeat state champion after having won it last year as an 8-year-old.
