DUI Checkpoint and Patrols This Weekend

One Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI checkpoint is scheduled to take place tonight, Friday, July 18th, in Wilmington and will be conducted by the New Castle County DUI Task Force. Delaware State Police Troop 3 will also be saturating Kent County with roving patrols cracking down on impaired drivers this weekend.

Not all DUI’s are a criminal act. Take Dancing Under the Influence for example. Sure it’s not pretty, but it’s also not against the law. Driving Under the Influence, on the other hand, that’s illegal and not worth the risk. That is why the Delaware Office of Highway Safety along with law enforcement across the state are cracking down on impaired driving and launching the 14th Annual Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign this holiday weekend.

A routine administrative check by a Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement agent led to charges of alcohol smuggling.

A 39-year-old Wilmington man, accused of illegally selling alcohol, was arrested following a raid at a Wilmington nightclub.
