The Churchmans Road boat ramp on the Christina River is temporarily closed due to repairs associated with a water main break, ramp owner Artesian Water informed the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control late Monday afternoon. Artesian noted that repairs to the broken water main are expected to take six weeks, dependent on the weather.

The DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife cooperatively manages the Churchmans Road boat ramp and adjacent parking lot with Artesian for recreational activities. Anglers, boaters and waterfowl hunters who need to launch a boat in the area can alternatively use the Newport boat ramp on Thoms Way in Newport. FELTON – DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation announced today that Killens Pond Road, from Paradise Alley Road to Scrap Tavern Road, will close to through traffic July 22 – Aug.16 for construction. Work will include repair and replacement of the bridge deck at the spillway adjacent to Killens Pond State Park.

Detour signs will be placed by DelDOT to route traffic from the day-use side of the park to the campground throughout the construction period. Visitor access from Route 13 to the campground entrance on Paradise Alley Road and to the main park entrance from Killens Pond Road will not be impacted. DelDOT flaggers will be on hand during the construction to direct pedestrian access to and from the Pondside Trail.

The park will remain open during the construction period.

DOVER – DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation announced today that repair work will begin on Tower 7, also known as the Observation Tower, at Cape Henlopen State Park. The tower will be closed Monday, Nov. 5 – Monday, Dec. 31.

This is the second phase of planned repair work for the Observation Tower. Construction will include stair repairs and painting.

DOVER – DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation announced today that repair work will be conducted on the Cape Henlopen fishing pier beginning Oct. 9, to replace a pipe below the pier. The pier will remain open for the duration of the project, expected to take three days, weather permitting.
