Driver charged in death of Wilmington youth

On January 9, 2010, 9 year-old Thomas White died from injuries he sustained afterbeing struck by a vehicle near 25 th and Jessup Streets in Wilmington. Wilmington Police conducted a thorough investigation and provided its report to the Delaware Department of Justice.

After a careful review of the evidence, the Delaware Department of Justice has authorized the arrest of the driver, 17 year-old Latika Wright, on the following charges:

Vehicular homicide 2nd Degree (Felony)
Leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death (Felony)
Failure to report a collision resulting in death or injury (Misdemeanor)
Inattentive driving (Violation)
Driving without a license (Misdemeanor)
Failure to have required insurance (Misdemeanor) Wright was arrested this morning by Wilmington Police and will be arraigned in Family Court.

On January 9, 2010, 9 year-old Thomas White died from injuries he sustained afterbeing struck by a vehicle near 25 th and Jessup Streets in Wilmington. Wilmington Police conducted a thorough investigation and provided its report to the Delaware Department of Justice.

After a careful review of the evidence, the Delaware Department of Justice has authorized the arrest of the driver, 17 year-old Latika Wright, on the following charges:
