Middletown sex offender charged with dealing in child pornography

Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that a Middletown-area registered sex offender has been arrested following a Child Predator Task Force investigation into the online distribution of child pornography.

“The images and videos of child pornography that we uncover during our investigations record the violent sexual assault of young children,” Biden said. “Predators trade these images and videos as currency in a virtual criminal marketplace which our Child Predator Task Force is focused on attacking every day.”

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant yesterday, May 23rd, at a residence in the 300 block of Senator Drive in Middletown by the Child Predator Task Force, along with detectives from Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit and a uniformed Trooper from DSP Troop #9. During the search, detectives seized multiple computers and other digital media devices. In addition, a person of interest, 20 year-old Kevin H. Boone, was taken to Middletown Police Department, which assisted by providing forensic support and facilities, for further investigation. During a forensic preview, detectives discovered e-mail Boone had received and sent containing multiple files of child pornography, including a video file of an unclothed boy under the age of 10 engaged in a sex act with an adult male.

As a result of the investigation, Boone was arrested and charged with 25 counts of dealing in child pornography. He was arraigned via videophone by JP Court #2 and was taken to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $250,000 secured bail.

Boone is currently a Tier 2 sex offender following a 2010 conviction for possession of child pornography. Boone indicated to authorities that he was a student at Delaware Technical and Community College.
