Illustrative American and Delaware State Flags at Half Staff to represent Flag Status

Governor Carney ordered both the U.S. and State flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of fallen Delmar Police Corporal Keith Heacook, who died in the line of duty.

Governor Carney issued the following statement on the death of Corporal Keith Heacook:

“Corporal Heacook lost his life after performing a duty on behalf of the people of Delaware,” said Governor Carney. “The Delmar community and the entire State of Delaware lost a public servant. My heart is with Corporal Heacook’s family and Corporal Heacook’s fellow law enforcement officers across Delaware, who put their own lives on the line to protect the rest of us.”

Flags are to remain at half-staff until further notice.
