The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a residential structure fire that was reported on March 19, 2026, shortly after 4:00 PM in the 800 block of Willow Grove Road, in Felton, Delaware.
The Felton Fire Company, and assisting mutual aid fire companies, arrived on scene and found a single-family dwelling structure with heavy fire and smoke showing. The structure was found to be occupied at the time of the fire. Firefighters were able to make access into the burning structure and remove an unresponsive female Victim. Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services personnel immediately started life saving measures and were unable to successfully revive the Victim. A second female Victim was located and found deceased within the structure.
Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshals, as part of the Major Incident Response Team, responded to the scene and conducted an origin and cause investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The deceased Victims have been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science – Medical Examiner Unit for identification and cause of death. Damage is estimated at $150,000. There were no other reported injuries.
