Sites across Delaware offer free summer meals to children

Districts, charter schools and community partners across the state are providing free meals to children in their communities so they don’t go hungry while school is out.




Free and Reduced Price Meal Policy for 2019-20 School Year

The Delaware Department of Education announces the 2019-20 U.S. Department of Agriculture policy for free and reduced price meals for children unable to pay the full price for meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and After School Snack Program. Each participating school and its administrative office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.




Caesar Rodney School District, Jefferson School win U.S. Green Ribbon Awards

The Caesar Rodney School District and the private Jefferson School are 2019 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon winners, federal officials announced today.




DDOE supporting Design Thinking Academy students as school leaders plan closure at end of academic year

DDOE, in coordination with district and charter schools, is assisting Design Thinking leaders as they help families enroll the students in new schools for the fall. The students may return to the district schools in their home feeder patterns or choice into other district or charter schools that are accepting students.




State awards 21st Century Community Learning Center grants

The Delaware Department of Education has awarded eight new 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program grants under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
