Delaware HOSA students place at national conference

More than 100 students and advisers from across the State of Delaware joined nearly 10,000 other members the 41st annual HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas. Delaware students represented the First State in competitive events, including: medical math, epidemiology, physical therapy, forensic medicine, dental science, medical assisting, biomedical laboratory science, and more.




Future Delaware STEM professionals honored at student conference

op state medalists from throughout Delaware represented Delaware at the National Technology Student Association (TSA) conference held in Atlanta, Georgia on June 22-26, 2018. The conference was the largest in TSA history with more than 8,000 individuals in attendance from across the country. It was also the largest national attendance in Delaware TSA history with 127 members participating in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM); leadership; and service focused events.




2019 District/Charter Teachers of the Year named

Twenty Delaware teachers are finalists to be named Delaware’s 2019 State Teacher of the Year. Selected from among the 9,000 public school teachers in the state, the candidates were nominated by their districts or the Delaware Charter School Network because of their ability to inspire students with a love of learning, demonstration of professional traits and devotion to teaching.




State awards more than $145,000 in merit scholarships

The Delaware Department of Education has announced the recipients of four state merit scholarship programs for the 2018-19 academic year. Merit scholarships are competitive and awarded based on a student’s academic performance, participation in school activities and service to the community.




Guilty Verdicts In Two Separate Murders

Guns, Drugs, Burglary Lead To Other Convictions A murder at the former Gold Club in Wilmington has resulted in a guilty verdict for a New York man that will lead to a sentence of life in prison.
