Delaware Public Archives Change of Hours for Saturdays

Beginning in January 2012, the Mabel Lloyd Ridgely Research Center at the Delaware Public Archives will temporarily adjust its weekend hours of operation on Saturdays from the 1st Saturday of the month to the 2nd Saturday of the month.




New Delaware Senior Legal Hotline Will Help Older Delawareans Get Free Advice and Ensure Their Rights

Advice will be provided by either a Delaware Volunteer Legal Services staff attorney or volunteer attorneys. If the issue requires more than advice, the caller will be screened for free legal services and, if eligible, will be referred to Community Legal Aid Society (CLASI), Delaware Volunteer Legal Services (DVLS) or the Legal Services Corporation of Delaware (LSCD). There are no income requirements for the hotline.




Mother Indicted for Providing Prescription Drugs to Daughter

Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that his office has secured an indictment against Leslie Laughlin, age 46, of Milton, charging her with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other crimes for providing her daughter with prescription narcotics. Her daughter died in July 2011 from a drug overdose.

Today Gov. Jack Markell joined with Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker, State and City officials, law enforcement and Wilmington clergy to announce a “Gun Buy Back” program that will allow citizens to turn in unwanted weapons in exchange for bank gift cards.
