DEMA, PSEG SELECT YOUNG ARTISTS AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR ANNUAL CALENDAR ARTWORK

Delaware Emergency Management Agency | Date Posted: Tuesday, May 27, 2014

(Smyrna, DE) — Fourteen area children from seven schools have been selected for awards for producing art work to be included in the 2014 -2015 PSEG Nuclear Emergency Plan Information Calendar for Delaware and New Jersey.

The honorees were chosen from among hundreds of elementary school students who submitted art work.  All of the participating schools are in the Emergency Planning Zone, which is the area within a 10 mile radius of the Salem/Hope Creek Generating Stations in New Jersey.  Interest remains high among residents about the nuclear industry and power plant, and the calendar is an excellent resource for emergency planning information. The current 2013-2014 PSEG calendar can be viewed at www.dema.delaware.gov, under “Information, Nuclear”.

WINNERS and SCHOOLS are listed:

Angelina T. Nguyen, Noah Keller – Brick Mill Elementary School

Emma Lagarelli, Zachary Adams – Cedar Lane Elementary School

Kalob Tin Jordan, Tyler Joseph Bishop – Kathleen H. Wilbur Elementary School

Ahmyah Little, Brianna Carruth – Old State Elementary School

Aina Puri, Niharika Mukkamala – St. Anne’s Episcopal School

Kelcie Pollinger, Olivia DeLuca – Silver Lake Elementary School

Ava Pollitt, Christen H. Harrell – Southern Elementary School

Department of Safety and Homeland Security Director Lewis D. Schiliro will be joined by David Burgin, Corporate Manager-Emergency Preparedness at PSEG, and Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) Director Jamie Turner in honoring the students.  They will be presented with gifts and certificates during a ceremony Thursday, May 29, at the Smyrna National Guard Armory.
