Fiscal Year 2016 School District Expenditures Inspection

Auditor of Accounts | Former Auditor of Accounts - R. Thomas Wagner, Jr. | Date Posted: Wednesday, December 6, 2017

State Auditor, R. Thomas Wagner, Jr., has released the Fiscal Year 2016 School District Expenditures Inspection report.

The Office of Auditor of Accounts performed this inspection in an effort to analyze expenditures across the 19 school districts and identify potential areas of increased efficiency regarding the use of State funds. Since all 19 school districts can use their own discretion as to how expenditures are coded in First State Financials, we were unable to compare these expenditures across the State. We then shifted the focus of the inspection to identify and review payments that were not easily identifiable as benefitting students in the classroom.

For the full results of the inspection, please see the report available on AOA’s website at auditor.delaware.gov.

If you have any questions, please contact R. Thomas Wagner, Jr., State Auditor, at 302-739-5055 or r.thomas.wagner@delaware.gov.
