“This case, which lingered for years, demonstrates our dedication in pursuing justice for victims and their families,” said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. “We recognize the pain and loss endured by Richard Young’s loved ones, and we hope this outcome provides them with some measure of closure. Along with our partners in law enforcement, our office remains committed to ensuring that those who commit violent crimes are held accountable, and we will continue to support efforts to resolve unsolved cases. Let this serve as a reminder that justice may take time, but it will not be denied.”
“The guilty plea and sentencing that resulted from this investigation underscore how hard our investigators work to bring justice in each of their cases,” said Chief Wilfredo Campos. “This is also another example of our Cold Case Unit continuing investigations into unsolved cases.”
