Students from across Delaware proudly represented the First State at the 2025 Business Professionals of America (BPA) National Leadership Conference last month in Orlando. Nearly 7,000 students from more than 800 chapters nationwide competed in a wide range of business-focused events, and Delaware students delivered an exceptional performance.

Delaware’s national results included:

  • 12 national champions (1st place)
  • 13 second place finishers
  • 18 third place finishers
  • 67 additional Top Ten finalists

The state also celebrated two major national recognitions:

  • Tyler Gunter of MOT Charter School was elected to the 2025-2026 BPA National Executive Council.
  • Evina Shingavi of Waters Middle School in the Appoquinimink School District was named Middle Level Torch Award Ambassador of the Year.

Both Tyler and Evina were members of the 2024-2025 Delaware BPA State Officer Leadership Team and exemplified strong student leadership both in and out of the classroom. During the conference, students participated in BPA’s Workplace Skills Assessment Program, engaged in leadership development workshops, and supported service projects benefiting Special Olympics, BPA’s national service partner. The 2026 BPA National Leadership Conference is scheduled for May 6-10 in Nashville, Tennessee.
