SMRYNA – The Smyrna State Service Center will relocate to a newly renovated, State-owned facility on April 21, 2026, providing a more welcoming and accessible environment for Delawareans seeking essential services.
The center is moving from its current leased location at 200 South DuPont Boulevard to a renovated space in the historic Prickett Building, which dates back to the 1930s, on the campus of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill (DHCI), located at 100 Sunnyside Road in Smyrna.
The new location offers an improved setting for Delawareans to apply for and manage a range of social service programs, including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, Medicaid, and Emergency Assistance. The site will also include the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and a free community food pantry, ensuring access to critical supports in one location.
Relocating to a State-owned facility reduces lease costs and allows those resources to be reinvested into services that support Delawareans.
The move is part of a broader effort to modernize State Service Centers across Delaware, with a focus on creating a more inviting, client-centered experience. Renovations and updates are underway at centers statewide to improve accessibility, streamline services, and enhance the front desk experience for visitors.
Hours of operation at the new Smyrna location will remain 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
