DNREC to Accept Applications for 2027 Community Environmental Project Fund Grants Starting Aug. 1

The DNREC Environmental Justice Office will accept applications for the 2027 Community Environmental Project Fund (CEPF) grants from Aug. 1 to 31. Proposed environmental and recreation projects can range from $5,000 to $50,000, and any community or nonprofit organization is eligible to apply for a CEPF grant. CEPF is funded by penalties assessed by DNREC for violations of the state’s environmental laws and regulations, including violations of air, water or hazardous material permits.

The Delaware Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) recognized 11 public safety professionals who completed its second annual POST Approved Instructor Course from July 20 to 24 at the University of Delaware Police Department.

The five-day course brought together participants from agencies across Delaware, highlighting the state’s commitment to developing qualified instructors for law enforcement and public safety training. Participants represented the University of Delaware Police Department, New Castle County Department of Public Safety, Delaware Capitol Police, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Newark Police Department and Delaware State University Police Department.
