Seventeen Officers Complete POST Instructor Course

DOVER, Del. – The Delaware Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) is proud to announce that 17 officers from 11 different police agencies successfully completed the POST Approved Instructor Course from March 16 to 20 at the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.
By completing the course, each participant demonstrated a commitment to excellence in public safety education in accordance with POST standards. The POST Commission extends its appreciation to the Rehoboth Beach Police Department for hosting and supporting this important program. The Master Instructors who facilitated the course were Bethany Beach Deputy Chief Justin Norman, Delaware State Police (DSP) Sergeant Edwin Justiniano, DSP Master Corporal Larry Walther, and POST Executive Director Sean Moriarity, Ed.D.
This comprehensive training equips public safety professionals with tools needed to become effective instructors in both academy and in-service settings. The five-day course covered critical instructional components, including Instructional Technologies, Principles of Learning, Public Speaking, Classroom Management, Research Methods, Realistic Applications, Instructional Methods and Adult Learning, Course Development, and Evaluating Instructional Effectiveness. The new instructors will be presented for approval at the next meeting of the POST Commission on May 18, 2026.

The Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST), a division of the Department of Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS), oversees standards and training for all police officers in Delaware.
