Give Your Holiday Tree a Second Life at TreeCycle Jan. 10

DNREC is sponsoring the Delaware Center for Horticulture’s TreeCycle event again in 2026. TreeCycle, where holiday trees are turned into mulch and wood chips, is a family-friendly recycling event to be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 10.




Public listening sessions in Dover for vehicle noise law

The Department of Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS) will hold two public listening sessions on House Bill 35 (H.B. 35) as it develops standards and rules for a motor vehicle noise control program. The first session will occur on January 22 at 1 p.m. at the DelDOT Administrative Building Conference Room (South), 800 S. Bay Road, Dover, DE 19901. The second will be on January 29 at 5 p.m. in the same location. Both sessions will permit virtual participation on Microsoft Teams. The MS Teams link will be posted on the Delaware Public Meeting Calendar, along with the session agenda.




DNREC Approves Permits for US Wind Offshore Project

DNREC approved several permits for US Wind, Inc., allowing the Delaware components of its proposed Maryland offshore wind project to proceed.




DNREC Begins Emergency Dredging Project Restoring Beach North of Indian River Inlet

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has initiated an emergency dredging project to restore the severely eroded beach area north of the Indian River Inlet.
