The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has finalized a strategy to address several specific wetlands and aquatic vegetation issues in the Inland Bays watershed.




DNREC and Center for the Inland Bays to host Water Family Fest on June 8

DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship and the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays will host their first annual Water Family Fest from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 8 at the James Farm Ecological Preserve, on Cedar Neck Road, in Ocean View. Admission is free.

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced that acreage will be made available for Inland Bays’ shellfish aquaculture lease starting later this month. Some acreage previously classified as “Pending” on the interactive Shellfish Aquaculture Development Area map will be updated starting May 10 to “Available.”

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife will begin accepting more Inland Bays shellfish aquaculture lease applications postmarked after midnight Tuesday, Dec. 5 on a first-come, first-served basis.

DOVER – The Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife will conduct a public lottery for the initial offering of acreage available for shellfish aquaculture leases in Delaware’s Inland Bays at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, at DNREC’s Lewes Facility, 901 Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
