Dover – Summer might have officially ended but the Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign enforcement continues on and proves that driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and/or drugs will get you arrested.   On September 7th a total of 10 individuals were arrested for DUI.  This brings the total DUI arrests made as part of the campaign to 144.  Statewide, there have been over 3,400 DUI arrests made in Delaware this year.

In addition to the DUI arrests, officers issued 5 seat belt citations, apprehended 2 wanted individuals, made 3 drug arrests, issued 2 child restraint citation, and issued 41 citations for various other traffic violations.

Two sobriety checkpoints are scheduled to occur on September 14.  They are scheduled as outlined below:

Friday September 14th –   Newark – Checkpoint (NcCo DUI Task Force)

Magnolia- Checkpoint (DSP)

Checkpoint Strikeforce is a regional sobriety checkpoint campaign aimed at arresting DUI offenders, and uses high visibility enforcement to deter those who would otherwise choose to drink and drive.  The campaign, a six month long effort running through New Year’s Eve, involves setting up weekly DUI checkpoints statewide.
