 Attorney General Beau Biden released the following statement on the lawsuit filed today by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in Massachusetts State court against five national banks alleging illegal foreclosure practices:

“Rules matter.  Just as homeowners have the obligation to pay their mortgage on time, banks also have the obligation to follow the law.  I applaud Attorney General Coakley’s efforts to hold banks accountable for fraudulent practices.”
