Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden’s office announced today that it has secured a 25-count indictment charging Christopher Wheeler with Dealing in Child Pornography. The indictment, secured yesterday from the New Castle County Grand Jury, follows Wheeler’s November 1 arrest on the same charges after detectives from the Delaware Child Predator Task Force recovered multiple images of child pornography on computers seized by investigators during an October 22 search of Wheeler’s Wilmington home and office.
Wheeler remains incarcerated pending trial in lieu of $1.5 million cash bail.
The Delaware Department of Justice reminds the public that an indictment is merely an allegation and is not evidence of guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a jury trial at which the State bears the burden of proving each charge beyond a reasonable doubt.
