Governor’s Statement on Confirmation of David Small as Next DNREC Secretary

Dover, DE – The Delaware Senate today unanimously confirmed the nomination of David Small to serve as Secretary of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, succeeding Secretary Collin O’Mara whose tenure will end after this legislative session. Small will be sworn in after O’Mara’s departure to lead the National Wildlife Federation next month. The Governor issued this statement following the confirmation:

“David’s career has been marked by an unwavering commitment to making Delaware safer, cleaner and healthier. Today’s vote affirms the strong relationships he has built working with our legislature, Delaware’s environmental community, and other leaders across our state. I’m thrilled he will continue his service as our secretary and I look forward to our work together on issues affecting the quality of life of all Delawareans. I appreciate the Senate’s consideration and support.”
