Inmate Death – Felecia Morris

Dover – Felecia Morris, age 24, an inmate at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, died today, January 20, 2015 following an apparent suicide. Morris, of Dover, DE had been incarcerated on $3,000 secured bail since January 15, 2015 on shoplifting, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and offensive touching charges in Kent County.

Morris was alone in a single-occupant cell on January 17 at the time of the apparent suicide attempt. Institutional security and medical staff responded and administered CPR while awaiting paramedic response and transport to Christiana Hospital, where she was placed on life support. Morris was removed from life support at Christiana Hospital this morning and was pronounced dead. Her body has been turned over to the State Division of Forensic Science, as is standard procedure. The investigation is being handled by Delaware State Police.

Foul play is not suspected.
